My Summer Essentials

Quando chega o verão, há quem se preocupe apenas com os bíquinis, fatos de banho, kaftans e depois descure o que realmente importa: proteger a pele dos raios UV. Sempre tive muito cuidado com isso - por ser branquinha mas também pelas minhas limitações físicas - e nunca saio de casa sem um creme protetor FPS 50+ no rosto e FPS 30 no corpo. 

Há muito que a Piz Buin é a minha marca de eleição. Desde que a experimentei, há muitos anos atrás, que me tentei manter fiel à marca, sendo que a linha Tan & Protect é a minha linha de eleição. Para quem não sabe, esta linha confere à pele luminosidade e proteção, enquanto estimula a melanina natural da pele. É extremamente hidratante, pelo que prolonga também o bronzeado. Da mesma linha trouxe também o After Sun da marca, um produto que muita gente se esquece de usar. Para além de ser ótimo para apaziguar qualquer escaldão ou vermelhidão da pele, é também um passo necessário para prolongar aquele bronze de verão durante todo o ano. 

When summer rolls around, most people only care about what gorgeous swimsuits and bikinis they'll wear, but some look at sun care as an afterthought when it should be taking centre stage. Because of my fair skin and illness, I have to be extra careful about all the harmful UV rays and I never leave the house without SPF 50+ on my face and SPF 30 on my body.

For a long time Piz Buin has been my go to sunscreen brand. Since I tried it all those years ago, I've been trying to stay loyal to the brand, with the Tan & Protect range being my favourite. For those who don't know it, this range gives the skin a gorgeous luminosity and good protection, while stimulating the production of melanin - the element that gives your body its ability to tan. It's extremely hydrating, meaning it makes your tan last even longer. I also bought the After Sun which I'd never tried before. After Sun is a product people mostly overlook, when in reality it's a key step in maintaining that bronzed glow: aside from being great at calming down redness and sunburn, it's also extremely hydrating and enriched with Aloe Vera.

Também comprei uma coisa que já queria há muito tempo: as famosas Invisibobble. Para quem não conhece, estes elásticos de borracha são ótimos para o cabelo, pois não o danificam, não o marcam e evitam aquelas dores de cabeça chatas que quem usa o cabelo preso bem conhece. A partir de agora não vou a lado nenhum sem uma destas no pulso, e que jeito têm dado no meio desta vaga de calor... Podem encontrar na Skin.pt!

I also bought something I'd been meaning to get for the longest time: the famous Invisibobble. For those who don't know what these are (whaaat?), they're basically rubber bands that don't leave any kinks in the hair, reducing hair damage and avoiding those headaches that we get when we wear tight ponytails.
