Tenho uma relação de amor ódio com a Beauty Blender. Consigo entender perfeitamente a loucura de muito boa gente com esta esponja, mas também tenho muito mal a dizer sobre ela. Pessoalmente, não a uso para aplicar base - para isso prefiro o meu pincel 102 Silk Finish da Zoeva, é muito mais rápido e o acabamento é lindo. Porém, adoro usar a BB para aplicar corretor líquido, é definitivamente a minha maneira favorita de o fazer!
Mas... Mas, mas, mas. Há duas coisas na Beauty Blender que odeio com todas as minhas forças. Primeiro, o preço: é um abuso completo esta esponja custar quase 18€, quando já se sabe que tem de ser substituída a miúdo. Os pincéis tem uma durabilidade muito superior e custam o mesmo ou até menos. Segundo, a minha esponja ganhou bolor. Sim, bolor, tipo... Wtf? Sou super maluca com as coisas que ponho na cara, portanto lavo-a sempre que a uso, guardo-a bem guardadinha, tenho mil e um cuidados e depois encontro bolor. Nope, Beauty Blender - cancelada. Depois disto, decidi experimentar a esponja da Real Techniques, a Miracle Complexion Sponge.
I have a love hate relationship with the Beauty Blender. I can definitely see why everyone swears by this little sponge, but I also have my qualms with it. Personally, I'm not keen on using this to apply my foundation on the rare occasion I decide to wear it, because I just prefer the ease of using my Zoeva 102 Silk Finish brush - much faster than the endless patting and the finish is phenomenal. I do, however, love to use the BB to apply my concealer, as it's honestly life changing!
But... But, but, but. There are two things I completely loathe about the Beauty Blender: first, the price. Guys, it's just too cray to spend 18€ on a little sponge, man, considering it has nowhere near the life span of a regular brush! Second of all, my sponge got mould on it. Like, what? I'm super anal about everything that goes on my face so I washed it after every use, stored it properly, and I still found flipping mould on it. Nope, cancelled. After this, I decided to try out the BB's real competition, the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.
Logo à primeira vista são detetáveis algumas diferenças. A esponja RT é um pouco mais dura e menos maleável do que a BB, que é mais fofa e macia, para não falar da forma diferente. A Miracle Complexion tem um lado achatado, perfeito para aplicar base - adoro! A sério, aplicar base com esta esponja é muito melhor do que com a BB, porque é mais rápido e gosto muito do resultado final. Também funciona muito bem para aplicar corretor, portanto é a esponja vencedora a meu ver.
Right off the bat you can tell the differences between the two. The RT sponge is a lot stiffer than the BB, which is softer, and it's shaped differently. There's a flat side to it, as opposed to the fully round BB, which I personally adore to apply my foundation with! Seriously, I love applying foundation with the RT sponge, it's so much easier than with the BB and takes way less time and effort. It's also great to apply concealer, which makes it a complete winner in my eyes.
O único problema que encontro com a esponja da RT é o facto de se desgastar muito rápido. Basta lavá-la com um pouco mais de força que ela pode rasgar ou estragar-se. Ainda assim, é melhor isso do que encontrar bolor na esponja (ew). Comprei a minha na FeelUnique por cerca de 7€, menos de metade do preço da Beauty Blender (17.55€).
The only downside I find with the Miracle Complexion Sponge is the fact it wears down a lot quicker than the Beauty Blender. If you're a bit too rough whilst cleaning it, it can rip and become unusable, which is a problem I didn't have with the BB (aside from the disgusting mould, ew). I got mine off FeelUnique for around 7€, less than half of what I paid for my Beauty Blender (17.55€).
